The least they hafta do is their insurance will compensate for your lost. Make sure you have all your reciepts.

Sorry about your lost man. How was the car broken into?

The only problem is that i don't have the receipts what should i do, Shouldn't they still compensate me for my losses. My car wasn't even broken into, the acura dealer must have left my doors unlocked cuz all they did was cut all the wires off and unscrew my amp. I have a feeling it had to be someone that worked there cuz there was no way anyone would know i had a system in my car except for the people that worked there.

seems really fishy since there was no forced entry.
worst of all is that you trusted the damn dealer and now you get property stolen b/c of that trust. sucks man. it goes to show you never to trust anyone.

If you don't have recepits then you've got quite a bit of proving to do.

The first thing you should do is to take pictures of the cut wires, screw holes, etc. that show that there was an amp and sub there before. It may help too if you have pictures of how the setup looked before.

Then show the pictures to the managers, and get them to cut you a deal on replacing the equipment. Hopefully they're smart enough to realize that their reputation is worth replacing your equipment.

If that doesn't work, see if you can go to your insurance company to get their lawyers to sic on the dealership. Or if you have your own lawyer, call him up and see what you can do.

WTF?!?! Damn! Now I have no close dealers to take my TL-S to when I get it.

illusions, are you the one that owns the Silver TL with WW Kit, RacingHart M5 Rims? I remember it stayed there for a LOOOONG time and I was looking at it. It also had a V-AFC in it. If it's yours, TIGHT RIDE MAN! Now kick their butts for your system!

I seriously think it's a inside job also.

HOLY Crap!! That's some sh!t..

There has to be something that can be done.. The dealer has to have some kind of insurance or something.. like what if there was a fire or something and your car got damaged??

But that really sux when you can't trust your car to be worked on at the dealership and not have your stuff missing when you get it back...

sorry to hear about that bro.. hope you get things resolved somehow..

basiclly your car was NOT broken into. They got to your subs by the trunk release in the cabin. And they took it by disconnecting the subs and amps.

Either they had the keys or the dealer left the door open. Also by the sound of this they had enough time to do all of this and was not in a rush. Again it MUST be an INSIDE JOB!

Was anything else in your car taken? Was there any other cars on the lot got broken into the same day? How long was your car there for?

Sorry to hear about this incident. This type of 'service' will drive the current loyal Acura customers to consider other type of vehicle next time. I hope the dealer will do something about it because the car wasn't locked.

Several years ago, my friend had the system stolen out of his 94 GS-R when he left it overnight at Acura of South Florida. All signs pointed to an inside job as there were zero signs of forced entry. The only other possibility is that they left the car unlocked and the thief simply opened the door. In any case, he provided them with receipts and their insurance carrier reimbursed him.

Not to sound like a pessimist or anything like that, but many dealerships and repair shops have a disclaimer that is usually stated on the work order they give you that basically states that they are not responsible for any articles or items left inside your vehicle. Now, the disclaimer doesn't specifically spell out what is meant by "item" but I would imagine it to mean anything that didn't originally come with the car, i.e., OEM or factory-installed equipment and such.

If the dealership had such a disclaimer and a) they told you about it; b) it's printed on the work order; and/or c) you signed/initialed the disclaimer, they may still compensate you for your loss out of good faith but keep in mind that they could technically play hardball with you by citing their policy regarding items left in vehicle.

Although you are right--many auto places do have such disclaimers--they almost always apply to "loose" items in a car, such as cell phones, CDs, or change or anything that could easily and quickly be grabbed by someone passing by. If something is permanently mounted in a vehicle (sub, amp, headunit, etc), that is usually considered part of the vehicle. If you need tools to remove it, then these disclaimers *usually* don't apply. You always have to read the fine print though.

On the plus side, if the stuff was mounted permanently in the car, your own insurance should cover it, provided they don't require additional premiums for aftermarket equipment (unless you also got that in which case you're good to go).

Either way, it still sucks that it happened. Sorry to hear it.

yeh, what pianoman41 said, plus, I don't know about the LAW in Calif. but sometimes even WITh a disclaimer note signed, the dealer is responceable for your property. They can put it under a claim of THEIR insurance. Good luck & Bummer man

Though I probably won't take my car back to Acura of Pasadena I finally got word back on whats going to happen. After several days of complaining they are going to reimburse me for my subs and my amp. So maybe there not so bad after all, Yeah they did make a mistake and someone did steal my system out of my trunk they are doing what needs to be done to solve the problem.
