Question Sylvania bulbs

Anyone do the new Sylvania fog bulb that came out in early December? How does it look? How easy is the install?

I recently installed the sylvania silver stars. I am very pleased with the results. They are much whiter then the stock bulbs, although not a perfect match for the HIDS. They also put off more light. I cant emphasize how easy the install was, I got them for Christmas and procrastinated installing them until last week. I regretted not doing it earlier after I saw how easy it was. All you need is a 10mm socket with an extension. Look under the edge of your front bumper and you will see the bolt up there looking down at you. Use the socket to remove the bolt, then the light can be pryed out or pushed out from behind. Unplug light, remove stock bulb replace with aftermarket bulb and enjoy!

It's about replacing the hi-beams with Silverstars but I've also replaced my fogs with them too. There are pictures of the fogs, the HIDs with the fogs and the hi-beams with the HIDs.

You must not have the body kit...those bolts are covered.

after trying a few bulbs, i ended up with the silverstars in my fogs, also (piaa xtremes were too expensive, 2x as sylvanias). i really do like them (takes about 15 mins of h'lamps warming up to match). i found the install to be very easy.

so how would you get at the bolt if you have the kit? Is it totally covered or can you get between the bolt and the kit with a regular wrench?

you can install them with a bodykit

i have the oem bodykit and was able to install the silverstar's in the foglights. There's a hole for you to put the rachet extension(6") up through to get to the two bolts. Its a tad harder with the bodykit, but doable.

Hey fahoumh,

I noticed you are in Canada. Can you or anyone else tell me where I can get the Silverstars in the Toronto Area?

Thanks

I haven't gotten a set for my fogs yet so I'm not sure where you can buy them. And I don't even know if anyone from T.O. got a set of Silverstars.

You can try calling the Automotive lighting section for the Canadian customer service at 1-800-265-2852 and ask them for local dealers.

I talked to Sylvania about week ago and they told me they have just got them in their stock but they can be bought only through their resale places, so here are some phone numbers in Toronto area you can check:

5915 Atlantic Dr. Unit 7 905-670-2868

Wurth Canada 905-564-6225

Now, I haven’t checked these numbers so I do not know if they sell Silverstars or no. Here is the Sylvania’s phone number so you can check it 905-673-6171 or 1-800-544-4828. They also told me MSRP is 37.5 Canadian dollars a peace, pretty expensive though.
