Sup guys. I will be getting new tires tomorrow, (both rear tires have bad thread so the ride is very bumpy). So hopefully the ride will be smoother. But, I hear a clunking noise when I go over bumps. I am on F&F coilovers type 1. NOT slammed all the way. I did some research & I considered buying brand new end links for all sides. Should I just to see if the noise will stop, plus it will be replacing a bad OEM part with something more beefier?
Also, is there a way to check to see if they have gone bad?
Visible ways?

Just get the Moog end links. They're 25 bucks a side and at least one and a half times the diameter of the OEM end links. The OEM end links are shit.

 

Stock bars?
Best bet the center bushings are shot. The end links rarely go with stock bars but the center bushings harden and knock just from age.
If you remove the end links at the bars' ends and then wiggle the bar from between the center bushing mounts-I bet it is loose. There should be no deflection at all other than rotating in the mounts. While you are at it replace the rear center bushings as well. You won't know they are worn but after replacement the back end will track along with the front like new.

Woah, stop the clock! Are those actual zirk (grease) fittings?! In the era of "lubricated for life..." I haven't seen those in years!

 

I also have the clunking in the front end. I changed my end ling to the Moog and the problem is still there. I will look into getting the center bushing replaced.

So, after looking at this post, I decided to check the center bushing on my car and found out that the Moog was wet and grease was all over it. I clean it ant saw that the rubber cap rotated and there is no grease in there..

Is this normal? Is it defective?

Yeah, that's normal. It's suppose to be like that to allow movement.

I doubt that's causing your clunking, but I'd still do what jjashaa said. Clean and grease it.

 

clunking could possibly be caused by something else.

i would check other bushings and joints.

I have a 99 3.2 TL. there is a clinking/rattling noise on the drivers side in front suspension. The noise occurs whenever driving at a lower speed, driving over a bump and on rough terrain. There is no noise when turning tho. The handling of the car is still good. I checked the upper and lower ball joints by shaking and prying, I checked the sway links and bushings by shaking ad feeling around and they all show no rattling/clinking. I also checked on of the lower control arm bushing using a pry bar and it seems to be ok. What could the problem be?
