Something I have always meant to post, is how the sunroof opens very little. Seems like there is more room in the roof for it to open all the way. But yet it stops 3/4 of the way....

 

I was kinda hoping someone would post and say theirs opened all the way, and there was something wrong with mine ...

 

i guess that issue falls in the same catagory with fog lights.. and solution will never be found(by the dealer that is)

You can always remove the sunroof to solve this problem!

 

I Know, it's annoying...Anyone have a solution for that?

That annoyed me too. My friend has 2 1988 legends and their sunroof is huge and opens all the way. You can stand out of the car, maybe thats what Acura is trying to discourage.

Be VERY glad that you don't own a 2001 CL. It's even worse!!!!!! My '98 CL opened a little tiny bit more than my new TL, but the TL is wider. I'm very happy with it so far. But it would seem that it could open another 3/4".

 

Snook, i know this isnt the answer you were looking for but... You could always remove the sunroof visor. It might make it seem like theres more space.

I noticed that too, so when I got a an Integra for a loaner from the dealership, I checked to see how far the roof went back. Same thing. At first, I thought that it was malfunctioning too.

i also have been wondering how to fix this sunroof proble, i find it funny that snook (timmy) is askin a funny ? about the sunroof. I thiong that the sunroof visor would help casue i get no air in my car with it oj, ad as soon as the rain stops her is fl, i will be takin mine off.

funny story about the honda/acura half way opening roof. my best friend was driving to my school in his 96 honda accord and a pebble jumped up off the road and lodged inside the sunroof and the regular roof and cracked the whole sunroof. it was by far the funniest and strangest thing i have ever seen. he had to go the whole weekend with a giant whole in his roof casue by a pebble no bigger than a jelly bean. Just goes to show u what could happen cause since our roofs only open half way.

I think the answer is pretty simple: There'
s no room for it to go back any further. The motor and all the related parts are back there. The little plug in the roof for manually closing the sunroof? They put it there because it's close to the opening/closing mechanism.

There's some decent detail int he HELM manual.
