Stupid ppl

So I went to get some new tires today . Walked in for my appointment and told the dude i wanted the new ones in the front and obviously the fronts rotated to the back cuz ther newer (6 months old). Anyway they do the job and i pick up my car and see the new tires in the front and i'm like ok thanks and leave. Go to the mall...blah blah....come back outside to compare the new tire tread with my other ones. Then i notice that they half assed the job and just switched the newer front ones out and put the brand new ones in and left the balding rear ones on. I called up the guy and told him they screwed up, and he's like "you said you wanted the new ones in the front" and I told him what i actually said. I just don't understand how a person doesn't have enough common sense to leave the newer tires and take out the older ones. Now i gotta go back tomorrow morning and get the back ones swapped out. frickin hassle. stupid ppl man..

i can understand you thinking that they are dumb for not questioning why you wanted the newer tires replacing the older ones but maybe you had some different plans for the rear ones and who were they to question you on which tires you wanted replaced.

you did clearly say you wanted the new tires on the front, thus replacing said front tires.

i always make sure i am totally clear when i do anything like that to cover all my bases even though they may sound like dumb questions and/or clarifications.

Sometimes whoever writes up the order drops the ball & doesn't convey everything to the guy who does the work- who knows- sh*t happens.... you could have hit a pothole yesterday like I did and blow out a tire w/ only 10K miles....

Next time stay there and watch them do the work. I'd never let a shop work on my car without me being there to see what is actually going on.

i've watched without being seen before and had a talkin to a few mechanics who thought that grabbing and pulling on my sideskirts would be the best way to put my car on their lift...

or instead of lifting the car 1 more inch to make tire application easier... "lets just use a rubber mallet, it'll slide one"

needless to say both times i was not charged for the work...

yeh i always have to watch them put my car on the lift
they dont respect lowered cars at all.

almost broke the front lip off my integra once.
got a decent little discount off my tires that time.

I treat all service advisers and mechanics as dumb asses. There is no harm telling them what exactly you want them to do. Don't assume they'll do the thinking for you. First, it's not their car they're working on. Second, they'll only do whatever is written down on the work order sheet and nothing more.

The place I go to for installing tires, I get to watch them do it. They still have to ask me 3x what it is exactly that I want when it comes to a rotation or putting 2 tires on. It's really not that hard.

the mechanics do whats on the paper. its the service writers job to write it down. their are a couple ppl in the world that u dont want to fuck over, and one of them is the mechanic thats working on your car.

im just so glad i got a better job and dont have to ask the service writer/customer what they want bc the service writer is a dumb shit.
