Stereo upgrade
i just recently bought 2 kicker 15s and a new audiobahn amp and was thinking about doing the install myself.ive got an 03 tl-s with the bose factory system and the stock amp and sub. i was wondering if i could just use the same wiring that goes to the stock amp for my new amp so i dont have to run all new wires and i dont know where the stock amp is yet. so if anyone has done this or can help me out id appreciate it.

you need a new wiring kit no doubt for your sub. you can buy an adapter for the HU as there is no pre-out on it. you have to remove the whole dash and center console to do this, it is a pain in the ass and takes a lot of patience. If you have not installed car stereo's before you may want to hand this over to a pro.

you will have to run all new wires. the stock setup is no where near capable of what you want to do

If you are going the rout of running a new amp and subs I would recommend getting a new head unit. You can use an adaptor for the stock stereo but it might end up being really noisy. I would just get a head unit and dash kit. Not too bad to install it yourself but kind of a pain. It might be worth it to have a shop install it.

I dont understand why u have to take out the dash. When i did my install on the stock headunit, i ran the power wire to the battery, the remote wire i tapped into the one on the stock amp(behind the back seat) and i grounded the amp. for the rca's on the amp, i tapped into the stock sub with a converter. I didnt have to take out the radio though.

What SittinLow said minus the LOC box! I spliced RCA's to eraticate the LOC box from the equation!!!
No need for new HU unless your budget allows for such!
