Stereo System Problem!
Hi guys;
I have been trying to play CD/RW (NOT AN ORIGINAL CD) on my 2000 Tl, but it seems that the cd player can NOT play burned cds, it takes a long time for the cd to be loaded and when I push the skip bottum it takes up to 2 minutes to skip to the next track...
Anyone can tell me if this is a problem or that is the way it has been made. Has anyone tried to play cd/rws ???
Any one knows if the 2002-2003 with in dash cd changer play cd-rws or not??
Is that compatable with a 2000 model???? Are the volume control and plugs to the back of the stereo the same between 2000 and 2002/3??
I have heared that the amps are differnt.. Is that right??
please help!
Thanks

Welcome!
since you are a
ill let u know that, there have been millions of posts about this issue.
It is known that there is definately an issue w/the 99-01 TL's are concerned. Now there are a few routes you can take.
a) You can swap out your existing headunit for the ones that have a 6-CD indash changer fro mthe 02-03TLs. THe newer headunit will play CD-Rs. To my knowledge, none of the stock headunits play CD-RW. or
b) you can upgrade to an aftermarket deck, which will be the better option soundquality wise, but you will lose the functionality of the stock subwoofer. But, if yuo plan on overhauling your system, the stock subwoofer would be jettisoned regardless.

So you say that I can put a 2002/3 TL stereo on my 2000 TL with no modifications?
Are the plugs the same?? how about the amp???
If I install the 2002/3 stereo, can I play my burned cds in it?
thanks
