Stalling problem...
I have a 2003 TL with about 3,000 miles on it and have been having some trouble with the car starting. Sometimes I get in it in the morning and the car cranks but won't turn over, then all of the sudden after a minute or two of trying, it starts up and won't do it again for another couple weeks. Then yesterday, I'm driving home 800 miles from the holidays and the car just dies at 70 mph. I coast to the side of the road and try to start it again with no luck. Then all of the sudden it starts and drives no problem the rest of the way. Does anybody have any idea what's going on or have you heard of this before? I'm taking it to the dealer to get looked at but may not be able to get in for a week or two.
Cheers!

I too had rough starting problems with my '03 which was solved by adding some fuel injector cleaner. When you say your car "died at 70mph" .. you mean the car shut off while still in drive? Wow, that can't be too good...make sure to mention that to your Service Dept.
my problem's at idle my rpm goes up and down, i'd give it a little gas and then it dies. i got my battery checked and it's coold cranking amps are down like 35-40%. i think it's time for a new battery. yet i brought it to my dealer and instead they changed all my spark plugs, and after 2 days it's still doing it.

Ask the dealer to hook up the diagnostic equipment when they drive your car around. Too Check for codes when the car is running. I had a similar problem and they check for codes and found nothing. They drove it a few miles and their equipment showed cylinder misfires in 5 cylinders while running stalling the car.

I have the same problem with my 2000 TL, Had my car serviced and they initially changed the IAC Valve two weeks ago and that seem to do the trick, but it started happening to me again this past weekend, I took it back to them and they ran the same test, drove around and no code came up, the mechanic said that he is starting to see this more and more in the 2k and 2003 models, he believes it's the EGR Valve, causes mis-firing and the car feels like it's going to die when you start it. The are trying to warranty this for me, but the extended warranty for the EGR only covers the 99 TL. I will find out later this week if I will have to pay $300 to have this replaced.

I have the exact problems mentioned above. After driving my car around a bit on short trips i get the feeling the car is going to shut off the next time i turn it on. The idling drops really low and has even shut off before. Really weird.. This problem comes and goes. I hope there is a way to cover this under warranty. I am over my warranty, but if everyone is having this problem they may cover it.
Oh man.. last night was the worst one yet.. .I drove a couple short 5 k trips and then a 30 k trip and after i shut off my car and tried to turn it back on it wouldn't turn on.. It would idle really low and then shut off. I had to keep my foot on the gas and the throw it in the gear. After i shut my car off for the night and turn it back on today.. no problems :S... this stalling problem is starting to get real annoying.. anyone have any idea what it might be??????

I'll find out this Friday. I have my engine light on now. My TCS and engine light came on and now my TCS light is off, but the engine light is still on. I am taking my car to Acura on Friday and i'll let you guys know what happens.
My 2000 TL had the similar probelm at about 29k miles. During multiple short trips, the engine sometime had trouble starting smoothly as if one of the cylinder did not fire (I never had this problem when cold started). It was really annoying since it happened randomly without pattern. One month later, the engine and TCS check lights came on. The local Acura dealer diagnosed it to be faulty EGR valve. They replaced it and ECU unity under warranty. Even though the repair seemed to fix the problem, however, I still feel that warm start to be a bit rough as compared to before. I read other Acura & Honda forums and learned that 99' or later Honda V6 engines had high occurance of problems with respect to EGR valve.
This my 2nd Acura (I had a '89 Legend Coupe before) I owned. I think that the current TL's quality is worse than the previous Legend. THis not to mention that my TL has very noisy transmission when engaging although Acura has already extended its warranty to 7Yr/100k miles. But still, this not what I would have expected from Acura.... what a disappointment
