SS Mode question.

Okay, when I'm in ss mode and I'm doing some normal driving. When I come to a red light (complete stop) do I need to downshift? 4->3->2 or do I let the computer do it? I don't wanna screw up my tranny.

It's best to let the computer do it.

Yeah, it's best to just let the computer downshift for you. You can leave it in fifth and come to a complete stop, and the computer will downshift automatically.

It's better that way. Unless you are trying to engine brake, then be in the lowest gear for maximum acceleration for the corner exit, you don't need to do it yourself.

Wow, didnt really think downshift myself would really hurt the tranny but i guess it cant be the greatest thing. Ill have to let it downshit by itself then so that i dont stress the tranny out form downshits. Cool. Thanks.

Why even use SS mode if you're gonna let the computer d/s? Manual d/s and u/s will not damage the tranny.

Its just like driving a 6MT. Do you think stick drivers go through every gear on their way to a stop sign? Of course not, just apply the clutch and stop the car, then get in first and give it another go

you can still rev match / heel toe the SS tranny, it just takes some timing practice, that way you won't feel the 'jerk' when you downshift

(excepth teh heal toe manuver, since you only have 2 pedals and have 2 feet, allowing you to use each foot seperatly)

Nah, I break dance with my left foot while driving. So I have to heel-toe.
