Thumbs down Squeeky noises are annoying

I can't take it anymore. I am on a mission to find and kill every squeek my 2000 TL makes. The worst of all is the sunroof when the shade is open. Does anyone know what grease or lubricant Acura uses at the dealership or that is posted in the bulliten for this problem? Jens are you there?

They fixed my sunroof with some "special" squeak reducing tape. I had them fix when I got my last oil change.

Yeah, they did mine too...

They said it was called anti-squealing tape...

Don't exactly know where they put it, but the squeaking is gone.

Here's the solution: You listening?
Step 1: Pick up your phone.
Step 2: dial 201-587-9000(Park Ave Acura)
Step 3: make an appointment
Step 4: when you go in, explain all the problems
Step 5: Get your car back
Step 6: Receive free tee-shirt and/or EZPASS suction clip for the windshield.

I know how u feel. My car does that too which really bothers me. I went to the dealer and asked for them to fix it. Afterwards it still made that sound.

Ok there is a special Teflon tape that your dealer should apply to the sunroof opening that should alleviate this creaking from the sunroof. There is a bulletin for it and it is an older one so I cannot imagine any reason why any dealer would not have it.The grease that was being used is no longer applicable as that bulletin is superseded by the teflon tape bulletin.Jens

Speaking of squeaks and rattles, does any have any problems with that plastic clip that holds the trunk tensioners to the rear deck? Mine keeps opening and the metal bars rattle together. I brought it to the dealer and they "fixed it" by clipping it back together. It fell apart the next day. Btw, I had the "no squeak tape" put on my sunroof too... still squeaks occasionally. Grr..

It seems like I have a rattle under or around my passenger airbag... anyone else?

You know i gave up on squeaks. I used to be at the dealer for every squeak and rattle. I have SOOOOOOOOOO many. One in my dash where the black part meats the tan dash cover. One on the sunroof visor. One with the sunroof cover. When I go over bumps and the car stresses, the WHOLE roof makes a noise. My leather squeaks. I can go on and on. Oh yeah my spoiler to add another. I dont even ask the dealer anymore. I have asked Rallye to fix the loudest and most consistent rattle in my dash four times. They say they will but they NEVER do. So I might go to Park Ave Acura and see what they can do. If they can get rid of them, i will probably go to them from now on.

USE WHITE LITHIUM GREASE ON ALL SUSPENSION CONNECTION POINTS, SWAY BAR CONNECTION, etc.....problem of under carriage squeak GONE FOR ME....costs 4 bucks for grease OR go to a DEALERSHIP and let them charge 400.00+ for new this n that...

Real problem here is just dry bushings and connection points!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Other squeaks try WD-40 inside points....it wont last long but itll show you , that you just need lubricant at those points. then buy the good stuff!

DEALERSHIPS are the ultimate criminals AVOID at ALL COSTS!
