Most places it should be a flat fee. Midas and mineke are kinda expensive and might be in the $300 range. I got mine done at my local mechanic for $125

Where in California are you?

Shouldn't run more than $150-200.

The pain-in-the-a$$ with our cars is removing the back seat to get to the rear springs.

It was $250 to get mine installed at a local performance shop in Indianapolis, including the sway bars, and I bought the parts somewhere else. They also did comment on the pain in the a$$ install of the rear springs.

aight, i called TireRack, they said that the 50103'z will be in Feb. 3rd and the guy quoted me $155 for them. Does that sound correct? also the local mod shop (Motorsport Dynamics) quoted me $279 for the springs including tax n shipping. I asked whether i can buy springs from somewhere else n have him install them, he said yes, but the labor charge would go up by $25/hr. He also said that he would try to beat the TireRack Price.

I wouldn't get an hourly rate for the installation.

Get a flat rate, e.g. $200 for the install. Otherwise, the hourly time will add up - especially if they're sitting around scratching their heads with the TL's back seat removal.

Besides, if their rate goes up since you did not purchase it from them - go elsewhere. IMO that's bullsh!t.

I got mine installed for $100 here in LA, although we're supposed to have better prices down here due to the huge number of import shops. I called first and got quoted $100, then when I went in the secretary asked me how much she had quoted me, which makes me think if you call ahead so they know you're shopping around they'll give you a lower price than if you just show up and ask for your springs to be installed.

that price did not include an alignment a week later however...

Once the shocks are off the car, 90% of the work has already be done. All you need is a pair of spring compressors and take the spring off the shock assembly. Why would you do all of the hard work yourself, then pay someone else to have the easy task done?

You can loan a pair of spring compressors at AutoZone for free. You just have to put down a deposit.

The rear seats do have to come out, but it's very easy.

If you were in my area, I would do it for free. I love working on suspension stuff.
