Unhappy Wiper fluid

I just gave my 2001 Acura 3.2 TL for servicing and they gave me a loaner's car for a day. That was a 2003 Acura and while driving I realized that the wiper fluid would not come out when I sprayed it during the snow. I thought that the car was out of the fluid.

But when I got my own car back today, the same thing hapenned!! The dealers usually fill up all fluids before returning the car so does it so happen that the wiper fluid gets frozen in snow????? Has anyone else seen that happen?

are the nozzles frozen ? I've had nozzles freeze on other cars. Usually the wiper fluid doesn't freeze, but I've seen fluid in reservoirs ice up a little in chunks, but never a solid block.

I guess that must have been it. Coz I just went out to check it now and it works. Early morning is the time when I need it and it doesn't work then. Any thing I can do about it?

if there's snow on the nozzles in the morning, chances are its going to freeze them shut. After running the engine for a few minutes, hopefully it'll thaw out. I only use my wiper fluid jets once or twice a year.
Maybe a booster would help ? I never tried it.

I only use RainX washer fluid which is rated to -25 Deg. F. Never had any frozen nozzles since then.

I've experienced it a few times. Rubbing your finger across the nozzle to warm it up helps a bit.

If you in the North somewhere, pick up some -40 degree fluid, when I lived in Eastern Canada it used get colder than that and I never had a problem.

I am in Michigan and it is like 11 degrees here these days. The annoying part was that driving to work for 40 minutes was not enough to warm the nozzles up!!! I wonder how rubbing them might help....

Weird. I've never had that problem on any of my cars.

Michigan weather sucks ass, by the way.

Or you could buy the de-icer stuff, after a couple shots it'll melt the ice on the nozzles.
