I didn't get the spoiler, and have never had the urge to get it. I think there are very few sedans that look good w/ spoilers and the TL isn't one of them.

Don't have one and will not get one. the clean look is awesome and also, no need for the extra poundage. On my 93 Integra LS sedan, I had a spoiler from Wings West and it was ripped off. Well, from that day on, I had 4 holes on my trunk and hated it.

I wanted the clean look, so I got it just slightly lowered.
Then I got wheels and tires.
Then I got the bodykit ($870 or so self installed)
Yesterday i just got the spoiler($740 oem, installed from dealer after tax)

I obviously didn't know what the hell I wanted. But, I'm happy.

Cool

I got the spoiler because it look a lot sportier than the plain look. I am not sure if you purchase your TLS already, but if you didn't negoiate with dealer while buying the car. I did it with my dealer and he was willing to put the rear spoiler for free. However, like Closer said I thought I will be happy with just the spoiler, but the bodykit looks really tempting and at the end, I ordered it from this site.

I bought the WW Lip spoiler. I like the flush mount better then the factory. If you wanted a factory spoiler, you could just get it from here.... I think it's less then $350 painted. You could then have your dealer install it for less then $100.....

The combo of the factory spoiler & the factory body kit gives the car better looks.

No spoiler now, and no wish to get one. Love the sharp and smooth look.

The spoiler doesn't look good on the TL. There are few sedans out there right now that have the sharp clean look of the TL. The spoiler "spoils" it, in my opinion. Now if it was a WRX, I would definately get it. They seem to look good on sedans with a rally look and the TL doesn't have that look. Another thing to think about is that I have heard that the spoilers are often stolen. I'm not sure if there is an aftermarket for them or if its simply vandalizm.

Question Spoiler Advice

I know this has been asked before, but I'd like some fresh input. Now that you've had your TLS for a while, do you wish you had added a spoiler? Or alternatively, if you have one, do you wish you didn't bother? I'm having trouble deciding whether the clean look or sporty look would appeal to me more. I would like to differentiate the car in some way. I'm only interested in the official Acura spoiler. My dealer quoted me $799 installed.

thanks folks

I like mine, would do it again. If I had it to do again I might be tempted to go with the flush mount.

So far (1 week) I am glad that I did not get the spoiler, I really like the clean look. BUT, I am seriously considering the body kit. The dealer could do better than 799 on the spoiler.

I like the spoiler and had it installed. Some people like it and some people don't. It's a matter of personal preference. I think enjoying the TL matters the most whether you get the spoiler or not.

I personally don't like spoilers on any street cars. They are non-functional. A well designed car shouldn't need these types of accessories. I don't want my car in the same category as an a tricked out boy-racer Honda Civic.

I got the Acura underbody kit and MUGEN 3 piece trunk ducktail spoiler. I like it because it was already prepainted. I didn't like that fact that there are 2 brake lights when you put the rear Acura trunk spoiler. Even though the inside light is disconnected. It seems like an afterthought. Just my opinion.

One other thing, Had to take off the TL-S badge since the spoiler goes around it.

Anyways I like it.

You guys at least got a lip spoiler and that does help to break the air flow at the trunk lid, and reduce lift. That little bump is very cool and should work.

In my opinion, I like the clean look better. But if you want the bodykit, then you need to get a spoiler to finish the sporty look.

I'm just going to get Comptech springs and later on add tweeters to the system.

Originally I wanted a spoiler, but I don't any more. I think it looks better w/o one and I could spend money better on other things.

I think the TL-S looks better and more original without the spoiler.

With the OEM spoiler, the car looks kinda like an Honda Accord or Civic, cuz most of them have rear spoiler.

But, if you are really tempted to get one, I suggest get it with the body kit. The combo make the car look different than the Accord or Civic.

BTW, if you have snow in your place, snow can get stocked between the spoiler and the car.

Thumbs up

Again another opinion, but I think the spoiler dresses up a rather bland back end. This is purely a personal taste issue.

I have a '00TL with a spoiler and love the way it looks. I also have a '02TL-S with no spoiler and love the way it looks also. The spoiler makes the car look completely different. Not worse or better IMO, but just different. If ur having doubts, just look at some pics, or better yet go with no spoiler at first, and if u feel like the car is lacking, u can always add one. On the other hand, if u get it and dont like it, u cant take it off cuz of the drilled holes in the trunk. Best bet is to probably drive around and find one on the street with a spoiler and see if u like how it looks. Pics often don't do it justice.

I prefer the spoiler. Since I'm not going with the body kit, I wanted to get the spoiler to personalize a little...

Bought the spoiler unpainted from this site....Paid 154 with shipping and another 200 to have it painted and installed at my body shop.

Looks good at half the price.

Clean, clean, clean!!!

No spoiler; They're cliche and rather embarrasing (does anyone think they do more than add weight?). No bodykit; The TL already has slab-like sides. It doesn't need more metal between the windows and road, and it certainly doesn't need another visual cut-line.

In my humble opinion, of course...

I vote..

YES on spoiler, and

YES on body kit.

IMHO, a sedan w/o spoiler or body kit looks very sedated. All the TLs or TL-Ss w/o spoiler or body kit that I have seen are driven by older generations.

BTW, I have a before/after shots of my car before body kits+spoiler and after in my website for those interested.
