Speedometer went crazy!

I started my car this morning and when I put it in drive, my speedometer went to 100, stayed there for about two seconds and went down slowly to 0! WTF? I was like what the hell is happening. Has this ever happened to anyone? What could this be?

That happened to my 94 Vigor one time. The dash guages, particularly the speedo would shoot up and down randomly.

That was an early sign of failure of the ignition module which routes power to the guages. Luckily it only cost $60 to fix. Apparently this is a common problem with honda's/acuras.

This use to happen to my 323ci, but when I took it the dealer it acted as if it hasn't happened, but when I go on with my life and start again it does the same. Take it to the dealer, it might be the start of something.

The speedo monitors the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) signal from the tranny. The VSS sends a constant number of pulses per tire revolution. It appears that you have an intermittent connector problem from your VSS which is causing spurious pulses to be detected, "spoofing" your speedo pulse counter into thinking that you're driving really really fast!

It would appear that his tachyon pulse emitter relays are malfunctioning, possibly as a result of a breach of a plasma ECM conduit ....

It happened to a '95 Pathfinder we used to own. Turns out the gauge was bad and they needed to replace the entire cluster.

It would worke fine, then shoot to 100, down to 60, up to 80, then all of a sudden it would work fine for a while, then start all over again.

The solution is to remodulate the emitter arrays so as not to interfere with the graviton generators in the inertial dampers. That oughta fix it.

I guess too many of the non-trekkies aren't picking up on the lingo....

....in any case, I think it's early sign of failure and I would probably get it replaced (under warranty if possible) prior to total failure. I once had a speedo break on me and even to fix it, they wanted to write it off as "odometer mileage unverified" which basically meant the next buyer is not guaranteed that the mileage is correct (read: you are screwed). Luckily it broke at 150,000 miles and I sold at nearly 200,000; I think.

Yeah, better fix this real soon. You never know if the failsafe for the emitter arrays might cause a cascade effect and inadvertently signal the main computer that a core breach is in progress... You'll get no where fast! Just take the TL back to starbase 457 for some refit.:p

might want to get the flex capacitor checked out while you have it at the dealer. that could be the culprit also.

Guys, it turned out that my myopletometrix was discombobulated due to the overnendent shomitent I did. They also checked my flex capacitor and it turned out that it was broken at the anterior mortal part. Thats what I thought was wrong the whole time.

whew...Glad to hear it....as long as the hyper drive chamber wasn't destablizing the dilethium crystals power source. Of course this could cause a temporal rip in the vulcan mind meld
transmission mounts resulting in premature ejaculation
