im looking do do an LED mod in my speedo, and im going to pick up an extra gauge cluster from ebay to work with. will a speedo from a 5spd 2000tl work in a 99tl 4spd. will all the gauges still read fine?

 

No, make sure you get a 99. It took me awhile to find a double. The gas and temp gauges aren't the same, and the tach has D5. The speedometer is the same.

 

thanks i thought the temp/gas gauge was only different on the typeS. i asume it would be more trouble than its worth to try and get it to read right. guess ill have to keep an eye out.

I always loved the silver type s gauges so I replced my 99 cluster with an 03...here are the differences/similiarites:

speedo, gas gauge, tach, and most of the small indicator lights (battery, etc) are the same. The gear indicator, temp gauge, and vsa are different (temp gauge reads "zero" until after 5-10 secs after starting the car, at which point the gauge shoots up past the overheating mark)...

is the best place to pick up some typeS gauges Ebay? im really considering trying this, i might be able to find someone to to the soudering and stuff.
