I have a 99 tl and I dont know if anyone else has had this problem but yesterday i was a friends house and when i left my car was lagging a lil bit, then my check engine light starts flashing by this time on the freeway doing about 60. Then the check engine light turns off, but when i give it more gas it didnt want to go any faster then the check engine light started flashing again. So i get off the freeway pull over and the rpms are idling really low so i shut off the car and just chill for a sec. when i turn it back on a couple minutes later same problem: low rpm idling, check engine light flashes then stays on, i start to drive it and the TCS light comes on, the engine starts shaking a lil bit.
So i take it to the dealer and the diagnose it n' all. And they tell me that it was cuz the spark plugs were miss firing. Aparently my car had aftermarket platinum 4 spark plugs. They told me that the factory plugs have a 7yr/100k warranty. Has this happened to anyone?? So all u aftermarket spark plug users beware!!

Something similar to that happend on my truck, happend to be the fuel i was running was crap. try spending a couple dollars on fuel injector cleaners and treatments... believe it or not few blocks down the line the car started running better until the engine light just turned off and the car was running smooth again.
Wow , I didn't know that spark plug could cause that much trouble. I've got Bosche Platinum 4's on my car, I guess I'll replace them at the first sign of trouble. They have been great so far, I've had them for about 5K miles now.

I would stick to the factory plugs, or go with some ngk. there is no way to adjust anything, to fix the prob u must replace the spark plugs. i had about 6k on the plugs.
The factory Spark plugs cost about $20 bucks each. So they are not cheap.

i believe they are but there not the lesser cost ones. ask them for the higher quality ones. the ones i was looking at were quoted to me between 10.95 and 15.00$ at the auto parts stores
