dealer bought the car and never looked at it once.

me: "do you want to look at the car"

dealer: "no, just leave the keys on the seat once you are done getting your stuff out of the it"

i hit a small deer about a month ago and broke the grill and bent the hood.

So they gave you $15,000 trade in on a car they never even looked at? And on top of that, it was damaged? LOL

on the way there i stopped off an purchased some super glue so the grill would go back together... stuff didn't hold so i pulled over about a block away from the dealer and found a random screw in my trunk and screwed the grill back in place.

the car needed a new hood, grill and tires other than that it was in GREAT shape.

pic of hood

Even with the hood and grill damage, $15,000 isn't too far off the mark.

Here are the Kelly Blue Book Dealer Trade-In values for a 2003 TL-S with navigation:

Condition/Value
Excellent $16,550
Good $15,505
Fair $13,665

And the KBB Private Party values are:

Condition/Value
Excellent $19,860
Good $18,600
Fair $16,970

So the dealer can probably sell the car tomorrow, as is, for a profit.

With a little work they can make a couple of grand off of it.

15 grands is really a good deal for that car if it wasn't about the tranny. If acura really cares about the tranny issue, and take care of it , meaning the same problem happens again with the third gear, regardless of mileage, then the price would not drop that bad. For that kind of mileage, with a normally transmission, it would cost about 20k for that car. they did do something about it, but it is mainly to cover up their name and their business; and we , who own the 2nd gen, are luckly for their decision.
