The passenger side mirror on my '03 TL-P flips down (and comes in quite a bit, as I have it pointing at my blind spot). Check the manual to see if you have something switched off (or on) that is preventing it.

not sure about the 03, but my 06 does this by leaving the mirror selector on either the right or left side. if its in the middle it wont, it has to be on either the left or right to work that specific one. so if you want the driver mirror to move you leave the switch on left, if you want the passenger one to move then you leave the switch on right. they wont both move at the same time though.

the passanger mirror tilts only. If u want it to tilt when putting it in reverse make sure the mirror selector switch is either in the middle or in the right most position before shifting into reverse

My '01 doesn't do this. When did the TL's begin the mirror flipping thing when in reverse?

My 02' TL-S passenger mirror flips down, so it must've started with the 2002's.

ROFL, funny you post this question. Over the past 2 weekends I did the Door Handle LED MOD, and obvious was messing with some electrical in the car. So on sunday that I took the car out, and I put it on Reverse, the passengers mirror went down own its own. I was like aww f00k I messed up some wires, and kept trying to put it back up, while still on reverse, and it would still tilt down. I was pissed thinking I had messed something up, untill later when I was parking on the street and noticed it went down again, and a light bulb went on in my head! DUH!! Didn't mean to

Actually, it only works when the mirror selector switch is in the middle position. This feature started with the '02 model year.

I wonder if it's possible to retrofit this into earlier year models? I'd love to hear if anyone's done that mod. That would be very nice to have. ( yeah, not a big deal)

I put the little 2 dollar blind spot mirrors on both outside mirrors, now- if its not in the little mirror- its not of any importance!
Applies more to lane change driving forward but helps in reverse as well

I thought about adding those blind spot mirrors, but don't really like the look of them on my mirrors. I never understand why most people have thier driver and passenger side mirrors pointing right down the sides of the car. The only time that would be useful is when reversing down a driveway or something. I have both of mine in my blind spots so that I can just do a quick check to see if it is safe to change lanes. If a car is not visible in either side mirror or rear view, it either isn't there or it is right beside me where I can easily see it.

I like the little mirrors because many crazed drivers cut across 2 or 3 lanes and I like a fair chance at seeing them before I make a move into their race path on the freeway
Also, to me, there are huge blindspots on the TL and with really dark rear window I have to use the side mirrors to watch for certain persons who attempt to sneak up on you
I'm looking at YOU Highway Patrol!!!
Ok - I just like not turning my head
