Homelink

Hi all,

New to the site and have done a lot of reading on this topic. It has been beat down like an old horse.

Anyhow, I have an 03 TLS with Homelink. I just moved from one home to another one (new).

The Homelink worked at the old house. I have cleared the HL memory as directed in the owners manual, etc. The system is ready for new codes.

The garage door opener(s) are Liftmaster. Assembled in 2006, rolling code, purple learn buttons.

I can not get the car to accept the code from the remote. The HL light flashes slowly until it "times out" (goes out completely). It never starts flashing fast like it is supposed to. I have tried 2 remotes, moved them around at different angles, distances, behind the mirror, etc; but still no luck on getting the code to take.

The system worked fine at the other house which had a Genie rolling code opener.

Any comments/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Gart

Ok heres how I did my rolling code.

1. Make sure everything is reset. (which you did)
2. Hold the remote to open the big door next to the homelink and hold both at the same time untill it rapidly flashes.
3. Go up on the opener itself and you should find a "learning" button. Push it and after that you have 30 seconds to get back in the car and push the same button from step 2.

Im pretty sure we have liftmasters also so maybe that can help.

Already tried this

I have already gone through this process. I can not get through the first part of having the car get the code. The HL light never starts the "rapid" flash. I need to get through that part before having the opener "learn" from the HL.

Thanks anyway.

If i remember correctly

Once cleared press the button desired till it blinks, then get out and press the learn button. with in 30 sec go back and hold the button you selected for 2 seconds. It should work

I actually had to do this with my GF's house, I used the middle button but, when I tried to press the Homelink button and pressed the Garage door opener button at the same time, it didnt learn, I just played around with it, but All I did was keep doing the same thing, which is keep the remote close to the homelink buttons and that should work, clear the memory everytime you try tho.
