Why would you worry? If that was the case, you should have bought a Mustang or a Camaro. Dude, you have a nice ride...need I say more.

There's more to enjoying your car than having the fastest 0-60 or 1/4 mile time - if speed was the most important item, we'd all be driving Z28s while saving for 911's or a Z06.

I think Acura's goal with the TL-S and is to be fast, yet refined. Been in a late model Z28 lately - wicked fast, but refined isn't a word I'd use to describe it.

That said, the new Max promises to be a quick car - this time around, the increase in power won't come saddled with a big increase in weight, like the 2K model did.

The 6 spd may actually cost a bit in the 0-60 time, as 3rd gear might be needed (depends on how close they make the ratios). My 2K max redlines around 65mph in second.

How about the M3? the M5? The Jag XKR and XJR? All those other high hp cars? The A6 4.2? The S8? Why worry about these? It's just a waste of your imagination.

Get off your butt and enjoy the TL-S!!

One thing about Maximas, add a few options, and the price goes up VERY fast.

I wouldn't worry if it's an auto. Maximas aren't quick when equipped with an auto. (Neither for that matter is the I30)

Cool

What me worry? I can beat any Maxima, any day. Easily. I don't care what they put under the hood!

Nissan has been a bit optimistic about its HP if the I30 is any indication. On paper the I30 had 227 and good torque, but the automatic was a slug. Either the tranny is significantly worse than just about anything out there, or the engine spec is off.

Same thing with the 3.5L Chrysler engine in the 300M - 252 and a 0-60 in the eight's?

Hello!!!!

I am not worried - even if a Maxima show you his taillights, everyone will be laughing at them because they are so damn ugly.

Yeah, I remember looking at some pictures of the new Maxima someone had posted a link to. Out of about 15-20 pictures, there was only 1 that showed the rear of the car at all, and the tail lights looked about the same as the current generation. What's funny is how there was only 1 picture - does Nissan realize this is a problem with the car and feel like they have to hide it (and if so, why didn't they just fix the taillights to begin with).

What killed the 300M is a poorly geared tranny ... a four speed for pete's sakes!!! what were they thinking?? Take the sebring's automatic and hope it'll still haul ass like the 300X predecessors of its strong racing heritage?? Hell no. Plus some argue that the transversly mounted engine has an impact in the acceleration.
