I was browsing Rock Auto for some parts and I noticed they sell a “shift improvement kit” for our TL’s made by a company called TransGo.
Has anybody ever heard of this or installed this product on their cars? I always thought shift improvement kits were for manual transmissions to improve shift feel or shorten the throw.
I tried looking up more information about this product but couldn’t find much so I wonder if any of you guys heard of it.
I wonder where these springs would get installed in the transmission and how this would “improve” shift quality.
I've done a couple Trans Go kits in Ford C-4 and C-6 trans many-many years ago.
They included a valve body shift plate and springs.
You'll get a firmer shift, if that's what you're looking for, but you won't get longevity.
If you don't know where the springs and rods go, you prolly don't want to do this yourself.
I've seen these as well...seems like it's a retrofit for parts within the valve body; meaning you must remove and disassemble the transmission to get to it? Nope; I'd rather buy a BAYA from a yard and go on with my life.
