wont this throw off your SRS? your airbags may not deploy in case of an accident. that is unless you bypass the sensor.

i really wouldnt suggest that. usually with a harness is suppose to be used with a roll cage, to prevent your head from getting crushed. but anyways, IF you were to get it mounted, the harness is to be mounted at a certain angle. if the angle is too much it may not work properly.

I thought the TL already had bucket seats? If the original seats are gone, the side airbags are obviously not going to deploy.

To put this in simple terms - no matter what you do, if that red "SRS" light is on - the airbags and seatbelt pretensioners WILL NOT FUNCTION.

Unless they are leather, they are gonna look rice IMO.

I wouldn't do it just because of the airbag situation anyways.

If he follows through with this modification, it's probably going to be more work than he bargained for. The side airbags will be gone, and who knows how he'll trick the SRS system into thinking they are there. And the OPDS light (Side Airbag Off) will probably go nuts. If he leaves the SRS light on, crash protection is greatly reduced - the airbags and electronic seatbelt tensioners will not function.

The accord seat brackets will fit but you have have to modify one of the mounting bolt on the rear of the bracket. As for the SRS, a resister has to be used to to turn the SRS light off and keep the rest of the system working (ie front airbags).

I was going to say something like that. There has to be a fairly easy way since i know hes not teh only one who has done something like this.

yea yea yea....i just beat you to it jk

I would go check to see what type of resister is needed but im too lazy. If you want take a Muilti meter and play around with the 2 green SRS line and see what ohms you need to slow the current flow down.

That can get you killed. If the floor of the car were to buckle in an accident, the harness could pull down on your spine and seriously harm you or possibly kill you. Thats why the best spot to mount them is a roll bar, but some mount them to the rear seat area which is ok as well.

I say do what you want to do. Yet I don't quite get this one. The TL isn't a lil sport compact, nor is it a sports car for which racing seats with 5 pt.'s would be fitting. I think the type-s seats fit the car just fine, staying in tune with the luxury aura of Acura.

I say if you want seats that hug you more, then swap them out for CL-S seats. I'm guessing that'd require less modification to fit. Plus, it'd look OEM.

cls seats were my 1st pick...but thats more $$...the direction im going with the car is its primarily a track car n secondly a mild show car...everything but supercharger under the hood n a suspension setup for track use n no ICE at all...the main reason i need buckets is kuz the suspension is so stiff that im get lifted up from my seat everytime i drive around...n thats where the harness come in...

I gotcha. My suspension was extremely stiff on my last car and it gets really annoying when you bounce and slide all over the place. Best of luck on making something work. You will need a resistor in order to keep the SRS light off and keep the airbags functioning. Let me know what you find though, I'm curious to see what is required.
