RL vs TL for Daily Driver

I attempted to search for similar threads but the 3 letter search limitation has made it difficult to use search, so I thought I would create a new thread for the topic.

I am looking to purchase one of these vehicles in the coming weeks. Reliability is of prime concern for me. I have confidence that both are solid vehicles, but what are the pros and cons of each model?

I am primarily looking at 96-98's.

Thanks.

The only problem that are with most first gen tl's is that the windows tend to get scratched after a while of usage... thats basically it for the problems...

my mom has an 00 RL, and the ride is 10X smoother than my 00 TL. i dunno about the old RLs but if they are like the new ones, i'd say go RL for daily driver..

How old are you and describe your commute. how long is your round trip and what do you do?
I looked at the RL B4 i bought my TL. the RL is good stately car. I like the TL better because it handles well. I thought about the RSX as well but I decided against it because it is a little too noisy for my taste. the older RLs are 210 hp the TLs are 225 hp. Just something to think about also.

The commute to my office is a breeze, about 15 miles each way with 12 of those miles being highway driving. It's the drive to some of my customer's offices that can be ugly. I desperately need an automatic for these situations due to heavy traffic I often face on the beltway. Aside from that, a four-door sedan adds a good deal of practicality that is nowhere to be found in the NSX.

The TL gets better gas mileage. The RL has a better ride. To me, all other qualities are similiar. You can't go wrong with either one. I work in DC and the traffic is horrible!

Get the RL, you'll have a really nice/comfortable/luxurious daily driver while you can take your NSX out on weekends for fun. A friend of mine who has a 2001 yellow NSX, 1997 red NSX, is trading his 99TL for I dont' know what year RL. You've already got the best car Acura has to offer in the U.S. Market, now get the next best thing, the RL.

If you are going with either and ae able to push one year newer (99) you will get xenon headlights.

Both cars made that a standard option in 99.
