Representing AZine and the 2G TL owners!
Tonight, I made the long journey to this resturaunt that is 2.5 miles from my house. I pull up and park in the spot I park in everytime. I'm getting out of my car when I notice a TL Type-S wheel. And it's not mine. I look up and it is a WDP TL Type-S. I kind of stand there for a minute because I have never seen a WDP Type-S like mine, let alone park beside one. Anyways, it was just plain, with OEM spoiler. Well, a week ago I let a modded ABP go, and this one wasn't going to get away. I grab a piece of paper and a pen. This is what I wrote:
3.2 TL Type-S Owner...

I folded my little letter up and stuck it under their windshield wiper. I went it in, picked up my food, and left before they came outside. The car was bought from Landers Auto Dealership. (They don't sale Acura's so, it must have been pre-owned) I'm pretty sure that dealership is in LR, ArTL-S chime in and confirm... It had a sticker on the rear window, dealer sticker, and a dealer liscense plate frame. The sticker on the rear window was for a Baseball Team, Number 15. Before I left, I snapped a couple of pictures. So, if anyone signs on soon and starts talking about someone leaving a note on their TL-S telling them to join AZine, tell them Allen- sent them.

i thought about leaving sticky notes... but i wouldnt do it on a bone stock un-modded car. its more than likely a 30-50's adult who bought the car brand new when they got that promotion...
now on a TL with noticeable mods... yes i would leave a small note... never hurt to invite more!

Right on. Landers isnt an Acura dealer so it must have been pre-owned. the only acura dealer in LR is Riverside Acura. None the less good job on the recruiting. Maybe we can increase the AR ranks more and ESP. the WDP ranks.

So stock TL owners should be left in the dark?

I'm 24...I joined AZine for the technical/automotive assistance side of stuff. I'm not really into modding [but a few have slipped through, damnit] and this is still a great site which definitely serves the reason why I joined.

just said i would more likely leave a note to somebody who was noticeably into working and improving their car themselves.
sure you could invite every older business type person to azine.
but how many of those older, pay the dealer type of people would even know how to navigate the website? lol
some of us here do drive next to stock cars. and even completely stock.
but chances are if you see one on the street with nothing out of the ordinary at all. its just and old bitter fart

age range on 2nd Gen TL's on this site is no where near the age range of TL's being actually driven on the road.
so no, dont leave them out. just would be leaving alot of notes if you stopped at every single acura TL you see parked... i see at least 20 a day
the TL accounts for half of acura's sales. or something close to it. the amount of modders out there are small. and if you're into your car and want to mod it, you're searching the web for things and will stumble upon AZine. i've tried to strike up conversation with other TL owners but they all see it as a block of metal with heated seats.
but hey, it never hurts to extend a hand

I grew up in Alma, Arkansas, just outside of Fort Smith. There actually use to be an Acura dealership under the name of Landers in Fayetteville, but changed it's name soon after to Acura of Fayetteville. I believe it was apart of the Landers dealerships in Little Rock, but obviously it doesn't seem to be anymore. I remember seeing Acuras around where I lived with Landers logos on them, and going up there with my dad to look at all of the new 03's at the time. Anyway, I still drive my Acura down to Arkansas about twice a year, and it's still going strong!

Let us know when you head down this way next time. we will all get together for a redneck mini meet.
i agree. There are a few people ive talked to but there is this one big ol black chick with an SSM TL-S with wheels and lip kit and believe it or not a Mugen spoiler. Shes just scares the hell out of me so ummmmmm.....NO Sorry Azine
Man, I think that's the silver TL-S I was going to comment about. I saw it last night just down at the Shell station on RPR. I keep seeing it around. It has the body kit with that special spoiler on the rear, "Type S" badge removed, but I was thinking it just had the stock TLS wheels on it. Never get a look at the driver, though.
I was thinking about pulling up some day and asking aboutthe rear spoiler, but after what you said, I think I'll just forget it.

same one bud. i saw her yesterday as well with the stockies on now but i still wanna take her mugen spoiler or offer her 300 bux for it im just buildin up the nerve
I saw it while back on University Ave leaving work on day. There was a guy (black) driving it. I got up right beside him for awhile, but he would never turn and look at me.
UPDATE:
I went back to the same resturaunt Friday night. It was packed, as usual. Anyways, skipping the boring part, we ate and it was good. Well, we are making our way out to pay up front, and the place is empty now. There are only two other tables occupied. There was a table with an African American family. There was like 6-7 people. The other table was an older couple, 60+.
So, I think nothing about it. I walk outside, look to my left and I see the SAME 02 TL Type-S that I left the note on!! Its even parked in the same spot it was the night I first seen it. There are only 3 cars in the parking lot at this point. A 05ish Burgundy Chevrolet Malibu, the 02 TL Type-S and my TL-S. I walk back inside, pretending I forgot something. I was trying to get a better look at the two tables still left. I think the TL I left the note on, belonged to the older couple. I have seen the same Malibu on a road I travel down everyday. It belongs to a black family, because I see them washing it all the time. I know it is the same Malibu because it has chrome accessories all over it. So, I concluded that the TL-S belonged to the older couple. Thus the reason why they still haven't joined!?
Either way, it was the same TL. And I attempted to recruit an older couple to AZine. Go me!!!
