Replace pads with new rotors?

Hey guys,
wanted to know if i need to replace the pads if i get new rotors? my pads (OEM) are pretty new...maybe 1-2k miles on them, but my rotors are warped (major shaking during brake). Becaue they are warped...did they mess up the pads too? of can i just use my oem pads with new rotors? thanks..

i don't think there is any need to change the pads or the rotors...i think you could just resurface the rotors at your local mechanic for about $60. maybe i'm wrong though.

your pads may still be incorrectly worn - it's not something you can just say without looking at them. Not worth resurfacing the rotors (OEM) they really suck and have had mult. issues.

My suggestion when you replace your rotors have the pads checked out. IF you are sticking with the OEM rotors have the same place do them as where you had the pads replaced...

its hard to say with out looking at the pad. once off it would be a better indication of wether or not you need them

Depends if you can turn the rotors. Have they ever been turned? if so,, just get new rotors and then have a brake shop sand down your new brake pads to flat surface. Put all back on and your set.

I started to have a vibration while braking. I took back to the dealer and they resurfaced and replaced the pads. All fine now!!

thanks for all the responses....I was planning on getting new rotors since i've read a few bad things about the stock rotors. Either crossdrilled/sloted brembos or rotoras. Maybe i'll my current pads sanded to save a little cash. thanks again!

2k miles is nothing for the pads. Just get new rotors and reuse the pads. I reuse the pads after 20k and no problem; of course it was visually inspected okay with normal even wear. But, if you don't know the different of good and bad, then get new pads to be safe.
