replace brakes?

I have to replace my rotors and pads ASAP and i was wondering what was out there that i can do. I wanted to know if the Big Rotor Brake Kits from AEM which are available on the 2001 Honda Accord would fit in the TL. How bout putting the Zeal brake pads and getting the crossed drilled rotors that Snook sells in ACP? Any suggestions? thanks!

The AEM brake kit won't work. The zeal pads and the rotors that Tim sales sounds good.

Tim is working with AEM to get a Big brake kit for our TL's. Hopefully that will be soon.

First of all, I think the Accord brake kit will NOT fit...

The brake pads will help, and as well as grippier tires...

The OEM cross drill rotor will not reduce the stopping distance, but if you track your car, you should get less fade

if REALLY, I mean REALLY got some extra cash lying around... you can get the Brembo kit... THAT IS WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!

but be aware that the Brembo kit might not be a good mod for less exprienced drivers... cuz you might get under/over steer when you brake at the wrong time...

so what should i do then? since i dont have the money to buy the brembo upgrade kit, i was hoping for the aem brakes. But since thats out of the question now, should i just tell the dealer to replace my rotors and then just upgrade on the brake pads? also, would the comptech brake line help? is it worth the money?

Something that SL1200MK4 did not mention is that if you get the Brembo kit, you will NOT be able to use your stock wheels. You will need to upgrade your wheels to 17" or 18" wheels. I believe this is true; somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

Yup, just get the dealer to replace the rotors and then just upgrade on the brake pads with Zeal/Endless. Brake line only helps if you do a lot of racing. I don't think you will notice any difference if you just do regular driving.

yes, you will need bigger rims for them to fit...

My friend's cousin got the brakeline upgrade. The shop told him that the stock TL brakeline are thick enough, but he changed it anyways, and got better brake feel. It doesn't feel mushy when you step on the brake...

SL1200MK4, would you need bigger wheels for the 12.4" KIT or only for the 13"?

Will the 12.4" KIT fit on stock 2002 wheels ?
Just curious!

hum... that's a good question... I am not sure...

I think maybe you can get away with the 17s if you opt for the 12.4 kit

or else it won't make sense, when the 13 inch kit cost the same... of course everyone will opt for the 13 inch for the same price...

for the 13 inch you need at least 18in rims if I remember correctly...

Why do you think I put the word "KIT" those that sound like pads.

YES the whole brake kit, not just pads. OK

I think the fiting problem is not about the size of the rotors but the overall width with the calipers. They are much bigger than our stock calipers. So in other words it would hit the inside face( not the lip our outer rim) of the rim.

It migtht be a mixed of both. So you need larger wider rims
