Rear Jack Point

So how would I put Jack Stands under the rear side jack points. Is there a different rear jack point I can lift the car up with?

First time I ever jacked my TL up from the rear I was putting on the body kit something like 8 years ago. I mistook the actual jacking point for the bracket that extends from the tow hook underneath the trunk. I started jacking up the car and it went up a bit then didn't budge even though I was cranking the jack up. I peeked under the car and saw I caved the trunk way in. I had to take out the spare tire and pound it back down into place with a mallet and block of wood. Good times.

Use tow hook for the floor jack and use the subframe, LCA, or the side frame pinch welds for the jack stands.

Floor jack tow hook

Side pinch welds (my pic yay)
Attachment 101374

LCA

DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT put the floor jack under your radiator or floor panel.

Rear Sub frame has a perfect jack point you can jack from there to lift the rear end.
For the front you can jack up using the sub frame too but there are no notches for the jack pivot so you have to be careful, Avoid this if possible!!
The TL didn´t have any central front and rear jacking points in mind.

DO NOT USE LCAs!!!!

I meant the LCA itself not the bushing...
Aluminum LCA like the ones in the TL will bend or pinch with the jack.

The LCA (Yes, Lower Control Arm) has a Bushing that connects to the Subframe, This bushing is a solid piece of metal which has a rubber bushing inside to isolate vibrations and such.
The Bushing can be used for a jacking point but it is NOT Recommended, Lower Control Arm is made of aluminum and Steel (Jack) + Aluminum don´t like each other, Steel will bend aluminum. The Subframe on the other hand is pure Steel.

Here is a picture of my tow hook. Do I place the jack directly under the hook or do I follow that weld joint down a little bit.

Yup I've raised my TL on (ON) that hook. There are YouTube videos that can confirm it's safe to place your jack on that hook to lift it, in case you want a 2nd/3rd/7th opinion Also the service manual specifies that hook as a jack point for floor jacks.

Put the jack *directly* on the tow hook. The rest of that bracket will cave in the trunk.

So, I had to leave car at jack stand alone and move floor jack to front. Changed front and rear tire. Is that point ok? Basically, that subframe bolt sits at top of jack stand.
