Rear Headliner Problem

hey guys, i just recently noticed that everytime my car goes over a bump (the back wheels), i hear this screeching / ripping noise... kinda like when u crumple a peice of paper... so i went to the back and at the top of my rear window, my headliner has some gaps.... and when i touch it.. it looks like there is lil cracks that has glue stuffed to it.. hard to explain....

but all i know is.. whenver i touch the top of the rear headliner, i can hear that crumplin noise... ilke the glue is coming off or something.... should i get the entire headliner replaced?..

i had my car tinted a while back.. but i have a feeling it was caused by them.... maybe them taking out the rear headliner to get to the rear window? ...

is there anyway to take the rearportion of the headliner completely out and stick it back up there?

I seriously doubt a tint shop would try to take out the headliner to tint the rear window - or the trim for that matter. The tint film usually goes to the rubber gasket.

Is there any play in the fabric? Is the fabric ripping?

I have the exact issue with my car right now. My rear window was tinted as well a little over a year ago. I think there was an old thread on the CL forum saying that this is a common issue but that there is no known fix.

I'll probably see if my dealer will attempt to fix it under warranty. If they can't or won't fix it then I'll probably look into re-gluing it.

yes, there is a lil gap that is geting bigger.. kinda like the glue is cracking inside and giving up...and the rear headliner has like a 3 mm gap between. icna't quite put my fingers inside it but when i kinda try to pull it.. it makes this very nasty crackling noise like the glue is ripping off...

god i hate this cuz everytime i go over a bump or a twist on the road, the body frame twists hence the crackling noise from the rear headliner tryin to stay in place...

i feel like just RIPPING IT OUT and gluing it back in.. i wonder whats holding it in place... it seems like a lot of glue .

would advise everyone to check... go to the back.. try to put ur fingers between the rear headliner and rear window, and see how much of a gap there is, it feels nasty .. like cheap crackled cardboard.... now try to pinch it a lil and pull down gently, if u don't hear anything, urs is ok.. if u do.. then its gonna start making more noise later and time to glue that shit together... so far... i'm looking for a fix.

Have you tried putting some foam tape between it to keep slight pressure on it to see if that foes away?

ya but the thing is.. because the glue is already cracking a bit... everytime my car chassis stretches (when going over an uneven road or slanted driveway), the crackling starts.. gonna take it out and put it back on with proper glue.. will take pics and keep u guys informed. will have to do this at acura or the shop most likely..
