Rear Bumper Removal

Hey, does anyone have a DIY or instructions to remove the rear bumper? I've removed the front bumper a dozen of times but I just want a head up on how to remove the rear. Thanks.

If its anything like the 2G CL, then its really easy. I have removed it many times before without any help or DIY guides. I think its easier then the front.
You need to unscrew the screws in the wheelwell where the splash guard attaches to the bumper. unscrew the license plate light. Undo the 5 or so plastic clips staring at you when you open the trunk. theres also 2 on the bottom of the bumper between the exhaust cut outs or so. then you need to take off the rear lights. im assuming you dont know how to do that yet so...
remove the plastic hook things that your cargo net attaches to. they are screwed in. then pull back the plastic lining behind the lights. you may have to remove the jack panel door and jack to help. remove the harnesses and the 10mm gold-colored bolts. pull straight out.
this will reveal 1-2 black or white plastic screws under the lights. i believe it should be pretty lose by now. you can just pull on it gently and you will hear some pops but just gentle. be careful and not to scratch the paint when removing or when the bumper is off.
mods, if the CL and TL removal is different you can delete my post and disregard. hope this helps!

Just wondering if there was a specific way to take it off for the TL rather than the CL.

I need to remove front and rear as both are fubar'd. Was hoping to save some $$$ by dropping off only the bumpers at paint shop and R&R them myself

Hopefully they will get the paint to match that way. You really wouldnt be saving much taking them off yourself.

They'd only match by paint code on vehicle anyways wouldn't they?
And I didn't mention that they would be new bumpers as both are screwed.

No thats now how a good paint shop would match it. They would spray a test panel with various coats and coats reduced to see what matches better. If they still couldnt get a good match they would blend it into the fenders.

So, let me get this straight. You have to remove the rear lights in order to remove the bumper? Idk, just seems weird to me, but i've never done this before

I believe he mentioned about the license plate light needs to be dis-mounted from the rear bumper first, and that is all it is. It is not about the tail-lights you have to remove.
