this is just my personal feeling, that maybe tim doesn't really want this place to be where people start doing a lot of races. seriously, if there is a forum just for racing and more and more people posts, then more and more people will tend to go out and race too. this could be dangerous and we have seen so many tragic accidents.

now i can't flame people who race coz' i do sometimes as well, but i think by not having a dedicate forum for it it could minimize our motivation. of course we still see posts about races here and there all the time within the current forums but i bet it would be much more if there is a "race forum"

just my 2 cents

oh in terms of setting up another forum i am sure tim has no problem on that, and there are tons of people willing to be mods (hey tim you heard me? )

but yeah, if you read enough you will notice that tim never really encourage racing here at all. occasionally he plays around with his friends but i never heard him saying "hey i raced xxx tonight" so from that i assume he doesn't really encourage racing, and the rest just follows

I think we should! not to promote racing or anything, but to let those people who run both track and street post their stories w/out being flamed or anything. Those people who don't like to race or don't like to hear about it, just stay out.

If we had a racing forum then all the Maximas, Altimas, IS300s, 330s will come flaming since we'll be posting so many kills on them!

Well put...I totally agree...it allows racing stories to be posted...and keeps the people who sit at their computers all day refreshing like mad, waiting to flame someone...OUT!

I brought this up about a year ago and Tim said that that kind of forum would just not be busy enough. I tend to agree since there doesn't seem to be that many racing stories. Besides, a lot of you guys in previous threads said it is not good to have too many forums since it is more to read and it is better to have topics more condensed.

If you need your fill you could go to the CL Forum and check out there Racing site.

BTW - Another 330ci bites the dust.

Acura TLS - 9
BMW 3 Series - 0 (2 M3 (last gen), 2 328i, 1 328ci, 2 330i & 2 330ci)

Going for the 10 sweep!

Man I love this car.

There isn't that many racing story post, because whenever we do post about our victories or losses street or track, the "old" guys try to be parents and flame or whatever.

Good job, I'm 11-3.

My wins:
BMW - 3: 330i's 2: 330xi's 2: 318i's

Pontiac Grand Am GT

Pontiac GTP

Ford Escort

Ford Mustang GT V6

There are a few more, but not worthy like the Escort, but that one was just too funny.

My losses:
Honda S2k

Subaru WRX

Pontiac GTP

I just spoke to Tim and it looks like a racing forum is a go. I don't know when it will start, but we will see what happens.

Uhh,
acutally I already made a recommendation for a moderator, sorry my CO bro. :o
But, who knows, maybe another mod will be needed or my recommendation will be completely disregarded :o .
Also, keep in mind that the forum may not even happen. Tim said he would do it, but it may take awhile or it may not happen at all.

A different section is another forum, like the Type S forum and the off-topic forum.
