whats up i was just wondering what people in race w/ there tl i know i can beet the hell out of cars w/ mine an i havent even done anything w/ the engine its just stock some kids wantto race me in there mustangs do u think ill have a chance considering mustangs are only 215 stock the gt 4.6 i want to race a 5.0 i think ill get him tell me about it though

The new 4.6 GT rated at 260hp, a good driver with higher gear, the car will run high 13's. good luck.

Anyway, your stock TL won't beat the Mustang period! 4.6 nor the 5.0. Remember, these are V8's and I know the horsepower rating is lower but check out their torque.

You could take an automatic 215hp Stang with a TL and maybe even the manaul version if the driver sucks. I completely anihilated an auto GT with my CL-S and your TL's are only a few ticks slower.

Where the guy in the GT try to race at all? hard to beleive a TL-s can beat a mustang that bad. I know those SN95 body with auto are dog, but they couldn't be that slow. how fast were the TL-s in 1/4 mile?

 

The Stang I raced was also a convertible... so it was the slowest of them all.... auto, 215hp, extra weight from the convertible. But I had 2-3 cars on it by just 40mph! And the CL-S and TL aren't exactly known for their getup and go from a standstill!! The CL-S does high 14s - low 15s in the 1/4. I would guess the TL to be 0.3-0.5 sec slower. That Stang would probably be a mid 15 sec car at best. I think a 5psd Stang GT (215hp) could take a TL, and maybe even a CL-S with a perfect launch, but the autos are just plain dogs, convertible or not.
