Quick response needed!

I am in the middle of negotiating with a dealer and he offered $27750 for a 2002 TL 3.2 non navi. + Tax which is 7% or around $1940 + REgistration fees. His out the door price is $29909.
That means it is $217 for registration with new plates.. Does that sound right to you guys? I am trying to figure out if they are screwing me for registration.

Thanks,
Jeff

If you take your time and read his name and info instead of rushing, he is from Rhode Island.

BTW, that price is kind of high. I agree with liutang, if you can, get one with the navi. There are a lot of things you can do with it.

Do you think the registration price is high or the total price? What do you think I should pay for the car? Also it is about 1000 or more for navi. I plan on putting pioneer in dash dvd player in eventually so I really don't need navi.

Why put a pioneer in when you can get navi, tap into that with a DVD player and you are good. Nice clean look.

Also that does not seem to bad for license and reg. My last registration cost $358! Oh and that was for a '98

All I know is I got a 2002 TL-S non-navi (computer instead, much better ) for 30500 drive out in Birmingham, AL from King Acura. Why don't you call around, I know that place gives GOOD deals, so call and ask them what they'd give you one for. Or just look up some places on the web.

Oh, the expound upon the navi...don't get it. It's a waste. Most of these guys aren't into computer stuff...but I can tell you...it's a LOT nicer to have a small computer (when I mean small...I can make one, an SBC, as small as a paperback book that you can put in the dash) running your GPS nav, DVD, music videos...blah blah blah. I believe when you get navi, it shows your A/C controls on there, which would drive me totally nuts...and it means it can never be removed. Besides, you'd save 500 not getting navi and getting a computer instead to do the same stuff...my computer only cost 800 and is WAY more than what any normal sane person would need

Talking

Thanks for the responses. Unfortunate that I live in RI where it is 7% sales tax. Alabama is 4% which would have saved me $800. But correct me if I am wrong don't you get charged tax for the state you reside and register the car in? If not I am going up to New Hampshire tommorrow and buying the car at 0% sales tax .

Anyway I can't find one any cheaper than this! It is only 700 over invoice price? I was quoted 27003 for invoice price? Many people were saying they paid from 26000-28400 for their car.

You guys are making it tough on me, I have been waiting to buy for a few weeks now.

Heh BlackShadow and you haven't seen what my car computer can do One thing I just installed...active radar scanning/jamming...can your factory NAVI do that?!?

Jwheels9876, actually Alabama is 3.125%. And to be honest that'll save you about $900 bucks. I'm in Texas, my car's registered in AL...
But yeah like I said go check out places online...did you ask the guy for his actual invoice sheet? He's required to give that to you if you ask. That's a quick and easy way to stick it to em. Did that out here in Texas and found out a guy wanted to charge me 5000 over invoice. If they're offering you close to invoice, and it's a 2002, I'd go for it. I'm not sure, but from what I've heard of the demand you won't get it for less than invoice anywhere. But something to think about man...registering it in another state...my tax was going to be I believe 7.5% or something here...I saved myself over a grand...and got it shipped as part of the deal right to my house from the factory...

Oh I built it myself...not really hard to do. Bought about 80% of the computer parts on eBay too...had a bit of it lying around because I build computers to try to make some cash. There's actually a really *****y guy, Shyne, on another post who says I am "ballin' in my 2002TL with all my mods" and doesn't even think I have a 2002 TL-S for some reason?? No idea why...but so he wants me to prove it...I took a bunch of pictures before and after I Zaino'd my car, but I don't have a digital camera. So I can snap a couple shots of the computer as well...but right now it's in "raw" form...aka it doesn't have a box or anything, just the bare computer...so I'll snap one for ya, and one after I put it in a box and black leather wrap the front of it to match the car (you'll see what I mean). I'll do that this week and try to get the pictures scanned in this weekend. I dunno where I'll post em, but I'll make sure it's a thread you're in

But I'm telling ya man...the computer isn't pretty right now...not too impressive...but it does its work!
