Take some vegetable oil, vaseline, KY, or any other lubricant and rub a tiny bit on the inside of the rubber part on the filter. Should slide right on.
Yeah - well, it wasn't going in, I tried everything.... but I did find one thing that works.... duct tape and epoxy (I could care less... nobody sees is, and it wont come off!!!) That ***** is NOT coming apart anytime soon. When I replace the filter, I'll be sure and do it right. How often do you change the filters???

What?
You epoxy'd the filter to the intake? Dude you're ****ed. You don't replace the filters you remove it and clean it with the K&N filter cleaning kit.
I hope I'm just reading your post wrong.

Well.... I did.... Its not exactly on there like it should be. I put it on opposite as it should have been installed, but I epoxied the filter to the pipe.... I mean, I dont think its going anywhere. I just slid the rubber inside the pipe, instead of outside it. The filter is on there pretty good. I know, I felt terrible about doing it... But I promise you, it WAS NOT going on like it should have. The filter was simply too small, and I even cut part of the edges of the rubber to try and get it on, but it wouldn't go. I lubed that son of a ***** up, but it still would NOT go on! I was like, "ok, I've spent this much time getting it ready, I dont care what I have to do, this is going on the pipe." My arms were tired, my hands were cut and starting to bleed, so I just gave up. Its ok though, it rained REALLY friggin hard tonight, and I mean HARD. It was yellow and red on the radar, and I guess I didn't suck up any water, so I'm pleased about that. I was all worried about that, but the filter is not going anywhere. It might be a pain in the ass trying to get it off, but maybe then I'll have the money to spend on the AEM V2 by then (and that way I can install the AEM Bypass too!). That should be an EASY install since I've already got the airbox and resonator out. All I have to do is take off the bumper, which is fairly easy. I know I was wrong, but I cant put all that stock **** back in the TL now.... whats done is done, and I might as well leave it until I get the AEM V2.-Ryan
