quick headunit question

sorry i searched but couldnt come up with anything. im hearing all this stuff about bose having each speaker and the headunit individually amped.

so my question is can i change the headunit without having to change speakers or getting an amplifier?

i want to replace headunit because instead of spending $200 for the navi conversion, which will enable me to use only one at a time. a double din dvd player unit cost only 1-200 more and more worth it. i want to use the navi and watch DVD at the same time. after i mean, navi=long trips, long trips=DVD. haha

when you change out the headunit, your 9" bose speaker in the back will not work unless you splice the wires like some have done here, try using the search to find out how. but just changing out to another HU your 4 door speakers will still work.

Hey dude I did that splicing thing..... Its not that hard. I could help you do it..... but for a nominal fee......muahahahahahaha....

But really I have a dash kit if you need it, you can modify it for a double din

the only thing in our car that has a separate amp is the rear sub. You can replace the hu and the door speakers will work just fine. You will have to follow the instructions above to get the sub to work but its not hard
