Question on Replacement Trannys

My '99 TL's tranny is going out with 118,000 miles on it. Acura has agreed to replace the tranny inspite of it being over 100,000 miles because I have been a loyal Honda/Acura owner for 17 years.

They gave me the option of paying nothing and just having them replace it, or for $100 they will give me a 3 year/36,000 mile warranty. I'm taking the warranty (duh).

Now the big question, how long is this tranny going to last me? What is the failure rate of the rebuilt trannys for the '99 TL?

I don't expect them to replace my tranny again based on the age of my TL, so should I begin looking for a new car at about the 32,000 mile mark of this tranny? Thanks for the input.
