Question on Dash Care

I finally got around to using the Zaino "Leather in a Bottle" product today on my Ebony interior. It is advertised as working equally as well on vinyl. So, I hit the seats - look great, the door panels, look great, and then the dash......doesn't look so great, kinda dry looking. I've used Zymol's "Vinyl" in the past with good success, just wondering is anyone had something they had found that worked on the padded dash material.

Thanks in advance.

I use the 'low gloss' Armor All. Squirt it on a sponge pad and rub it into the dash board. it looks glossy but not shiny like the regular Armor All.

I use the Meguiars Natural Shine Vinyl & Rubber Protectant
Its design to maintain that rich like new dashboard look. This is not the greasy look it brings back the original finish.

Thanks Copeland - I did a search and got tired of reading through all the "dash" rattle stories - sorry, next time I'll read them all.

I'll try the 303!

That's 'copland' As in Aaron Copland the composer

No problem, yah 303 is great stuff, I use it everywhere except the rug... hehe. I use it for all interior except glass, rugs and navi screen. I use it on all the 'not' rubber seals, the engine cover, hoses, wiper blades... I think that's it.

lexol all the way

I have used armor all many a times, but i really like lexol's

vinyl cleaner(vinylex). Plus high gloss liquid looks very cheap.

Low Gloss shine is the best. Also i was advised that using armor

all on leather isn't the greatest idea, i've used lexol. Hope this

helps.

i used to use armorall as well, but it caused too much streaking....but now I switched to MEguiars Natural Shine and it works great...not greasy..but clean look....and IMO..its results lasts longer than any product i've tried.

Meguaire is great...but they are expensive...

i bought the gold class tire gel...twice as much as other brands...

but it says it lasts longer thou...i gave it a try and the gel formed a protectant and stays on after a few car washes!!

use gold class for the first and second coating, then for thrid coating use armor all will be fine, no need to waste more expensive gel...and it will have the very shiny look with just one coating of armor all!!

and for the next couple weeks u just add armor all to remain shiny until the base gel protectant is gone...

i will try other brand of leather care after my armor all is done...still got half a liter here...

I just use lexol everywhere inside of my car. Looks nice and fresh enough. I don't need shines on my car, just neat and clean.

I would not use armor all on your leather....use something made for leather....as for the dash....I highly recommend use meguiar's vinyl cleaner....it's might be expensive..but it's an Acura TL....you must treat it with luxury...can't go cheap now....but anything else would be a

I wouldn't recommend using Lexol on the dash or Vinylex on the leather...

You could potentially ruin the leather or the dash if you use the wrong product.

Unhappy 303 Protectant

Ughh, 303 Protectant on the top of my dash looks
great, and even on the tires. But that's where you
should stop. DON"T put this stuff on the plastic
or worse yet, the leather..I got some finger prints
on the seats with 303 on my hands...looked like
I had f_ _ ked up the leather. I wiped down with
a clean wet towel and dryed. Still looks a bit off
but as time passes the stain gets harder to see.

Interesting, how did you apply the 303? Did you have some other protectant on?

I haven't had any troubles with 303.

Also make sure when you apply it you spray it on a cloth, wipe onto the surface, let stand for a few minutes then come back with a clean towel and wipe dry.

303 application

I used a clean terry cloth towel (I sprayed it on the
towel with the excepttion of the tires).
I did go back and dry a few minutes later.
Never used any protectant before (car is
one year old).

How did 303 get on your hands and then on the surface? Did you touch it before wiping it dry?

I don't want to sound rude, I just want to know so I don't run into the same situation

I have noticed one time right after I applied 303 and one of my friends got in the car their body oil from their hand left a mark on the arm rest on the door, but a quick wipe with a MF towel removed it. Was it that type of a mark that you are describing?
