Ok guys this is the second time i have asked this question, i am from boston and want to get the windows tinted, but the prices are crazy over here around 250 to 300 bux. I head down to NYC all the time, and i know that its cheaper to get it done from down there and i can also get 15 or 20 percent tint done as well, where as in boston tint shops only offer 35% saying its a law and they cant take a chance by tinting the car less than the allowed limit what a buncha BS. But anyways my question to all you NYC people is where can i get a good tint job from ?????? I am usually in the Bronx area so anything in bronx would be awesome, thanx a bunch.

 

im not sure bout the bronx, but im from brooklyn and most tinting cost around 150 and these shops are everywhere!....btw i got 20% all around wich im really happy with....

 

Be careful!!! A lot of tint shops use inferior tint. You want a place that uses Lumar. Also a lot of places don't go all the way up to the window's edge, they'll stop just before so you have a 1/4 inch missing. One last thing, some shops will use 2 tint strips to do back windows, you want a place that uses on 1 sheet of film. A really good shop here in NY will still run you $250-300.

 

Most places in Long Island run $150 - $200, depending on if you have a 2dr or 4dr car.

I got titanium tint, 20% - for $200 at Savage AutoSports out in Medford, Long Island (exit 64 on the LIE) - yeah.. it's far out there, but I live at exit 60, so it's only 10 minutes from my house.

 

I know a place around me for about $160 for 5 windows. They do whatever you want. Look for Car Spa near 11236 on yp.yahoo.com

 

I liked the job they did, they went all the way to the very tip of the window. Didnt leave that 1/2" like most other places do.

Mobil Universe, it is the only place that has a machine that cuts out precise shapes and sizes to match perfectly, they charge around 200+ bux, plus it is very famous place.
I had all of my cars done there.

Mobile Universe is good, and Tints and Tunes on 18th Avenue and 85th Street is good too. That's where I got mine done for $175, 35% black tint and it's been good so far for a year and a half.
