If I am in a turn to the right and move the wheel back and forth an inch or two I feel a slight knock or bump.

I do not fee the same thing when I'm turning to the left.

Bearings?
Rack?
Nothing?

Should I be worried?

May be an inner or outer tie rod end link.
Whatever it is, get it up on the lift and get a thorough check soon.

New symptom...wanted to see if it was related.

Now, I'm hearing a whah - whah- whah - whah....sounds like suspension...bearing-ish...kind of a sound that gets louder when I'm on a right hand sweeping turn (freeway onramp).

Is this a symptom of tie-rods getting worse...or is this something else.

that could be tire growl as the worn steering link is tweaking the alinement. Or a bad bearing.
Got to get to a shop.
