Question about seat heaters
Hey guys quick question, when u guys throw on the Driver's side seat heater and give it about 10-15 min. does the back rest cushion @ the lumbar area get as noticebly hot as the seat cushion? Mine doesn't at all, only the seat cushion gets hot and the back rest gets slightly warm. I could of swarn that mine used to get equally as hot.
You guys out there on the east coast should be able to help me out here
I have a feeling that it's time to visit my dealership.

It's not just you Darkshear. Low is worthless, I bet off heats the seats more than low. Probably why they gave the CL on and off only, at least to my knowledge for the '03's but I may be wrong. Now...why are there fake fogs on the CL, that is what I want to know.

The driver side seat the gets pretty hot for me after a while on high. Even the lumbar area. The passenger seat lumbar area doesn't heat up at all. I asked the dealer about it. Its just the way it is. But the seat cushion and the lumbar should definitely get hot.

yes and no
According to the manual you are supposed to start with "hi" until you feel your butt melting, then switch to "lo" to maintain the heat.
I have noticed the difference in intensity between the seat bottom and the lumbar region. The seat is definitely hotter.

IMHO--the Acura seat warmers are pretty lame compared to even those found on some domestic vehicles. Sure, they're better than nothing, but for comparison, the warmers on my Yukon XL (seat and seatback warmers for front passenger even given that the passenger side has a side airbag sensor also, unlike the ones for the Acura where the passenger is seat only) not only are much hotter (even the lowest of three settings is just about as warm as the Acura "HI" setting), they get hotter much more quickly. Why Acura can't/won't put a more effective seat warmer when domestic manufacturers like GM that people love to rag on for their lack of quality and ergonomics can get it right...
