Question about an alternative to Cold Air Intake?

Hey guys. Another question. On my old Accord V6 i had a CAI and it sounded AWESOME!! I want the same sound on my new Type S BUT, after talking to the wife, she said she hated the intake on the accord and did NOT want this way nicer of a car to sound crappy like the accord. So, theres no way around it.

No intake for me. But, i know my accord had a resonator or some kind of silencer attached to the intake tubing to make it quieter.

Does the Type S have anything similar to this that i can remove to get a little bit louder of a sound from the intake? I want to really hear VTEC engage.

And if not, do you think it would be worth cutting some holes in the intake box, before the air filter, to let some of the sound out.

Please help guys. THANKS!

My saving grace is, that my wife hasnt heard the car at WOT yet since its been broken in. So she wont register a difference in sound if i do remove a resonator or modify the intake box.

ok, there is a resonator. so will removing this be a good idea? will it help get the sound i want? Will disconnecting it leave a hole in the bottom of the airbox that will need to be plugged?

Will i need to remove the bumper to remove the airbox and resonator?

Stock system is already cold air intake - removing the resonator may reduce power, but it will be BAWAAHHH as you seem to prefer.

How is the stock system a CAI? The intake funnel comes straight from the engine bay, down to the resonator box, then back up to the engine intake. I assume if you take out the resonator box, then maybe it could be considered somewhat close to a CAI. But, the problem is this, you still will have the original intake funnel that you need to clog up so that it wont get any air from the engine bay. Doing this will result in you getting air from the 2 small holes that comes from the resonator box, but if you measure the 2 small holes together, you'll realize that the surface area of the 2 small holes does not compare to the surface area of a 3 inch CAI pipe. Oh, and to answer a previous question, yes you have to remove the bumper cover in order to take out the stock airbox resonator.
