Sup guys, just had the local shop install comptech breaklines on the TL-S. But for some reason the breaks got worse than before, i took a test drive and the breaks were next to nothing, the paddle was very soft and was hitting the firewall when i depressed it. I had them take out the lines and put the old ones back in and the car is back to stock again. Does anyone know if I am doing anything wrong here ?? Also they did bleed all four corners after the install. Any help, would be appreciated. And also does anyone has the link to a DIY for the breaklines?

Kris & Hyde, do you guys think i should have the shop apply some sort of thread sealer on the bolts before tightning them?? I was there personally when they installed the lines and as far as i know the guy tightened them pretty hard or atleast to the specified torque numbers. One more question, the kit came with 4 washers to be used with the bolt that is plugges into the actuall calipers. My question is do we need to have a washer on each side of the bolt i.e putting one washer on the bolts putting it through the line and then putting another washer on it before bolting it in the caliper
. And is there any way to find out if the lines are damaged themselve? (leaking or cracked)

Just have them bleed the brakes again (or for the 1st time if they forgot).
Unless you see fluid on the ground or around the connections, they are on tight.

i dont think thread sealer is necessary. if any thing i would have said they wernt bled enough. as for the washers just 1 on the bolt should be all you need (unless directions specify otherwise.) the only thing i could think of to test the lines is if the shop is capable of pressure testing the lines. id have the shop retry them and rebleed the system acouple times. if that doesnt work id say one of the lines is bad

I've installed them before and it's pretty straight forward. Take off the old one and put the new one on. One of the line needs extra torque to tighten since it keeps sucking in air during the bleeding.
