Problem
I just took my 03 tl-s into Wayne Acura in Wayne, New Jersey to get the seat and sun roof rattle fixed and my alignment. They called me back and told me that I had a bubble on my tire and that is what cause the misalignment. They asked for $280 to get a new tire installed. $280 for 1 ****ty ass tire. I told them forget it. I was wondering isn't that covered by ROAD HAZARD WARRANTY. Ive only had the car for 4 months.

that sucks... then what does the road hazard warranty cover. it should cover that. the dealer told me that i must of hit a pothole and that is what caused it. i read something in our manual that the tires are under warranty from a defect. cant i just say it was like that and i didnt hit any potholes.

I got a bubble on one of my tires, also. The dealer also said I must of hit a pothole. What a Crock! Then he tries to tell me our Michelins are "the best tires on the road". I told him I thought they were crap and wear out too fast, 25k miles and mine are all but bald.
Blubyu:
I've got 35,000 on my stock Michelins, and I'm wondering how much longer I'm going to have to wait to replace them. They look like they're good for at least another 10,000 miles.
My complaints are that they don't have enough grip and they make too much noise. When these are done I'm going to a stickier compound with good wet weather performance. And I'm replacing the stock springs.

$280 is way too much. You can get it for much less than that. You shouldn't pay more than $160. Try local shops.
You didn't state how many miles you have but if your mileage is low try to find a Michelin dealer. If your tire still has a lot of tread they may work something out with you. You would only have to pay a difference. When I had my CL-S, I got a bubble after 5,000 miles. I went to a Michelin dealer & traded for a new tire & paid a difference of $85.
Then after you replace the tire, go back to Wayne Acura & getl them to do an alignment.

I only have 7500 miles on them. Acura told me they dont warranty the tires. I have to go to authorized Michelin dealer and if they say it was a defect they will give me a new one for free. But if the bubble was my fault I need to buy a new tire.

Sidewall bubbles are most often caused by road hazards - which are not covered by warranty. BUT, I usually don't have a problem getting a manager to work with me on it.
I had a bubble develop after hitting a "speed bump" on the freeway. It was actually a huge pile of tar squeezed up out of a concrete joint perpendicular to the roadway (the tar pile is worn down under the usual tire tracks within the lanes, but I was changing lanes at the time so hit the bump at it's maximum height). Needless to say, I was thoroughly pissed. I began to feel the vibration of the bubble developing over the next coupla days.
I called Discount Tire, and they gave me credit towards a new tire - no questions asked. Total was around $100. I had about 28k on the tires at the time.

same situation with my 95 Accord. 3,000 miles on the new Michelins and i took the Michelin warranty papers (that should be with your Acura Warranty info) to the local Michelin dealer and dealt directly with them. they prorated and gave me $x towards a new tire. sure as hell wasn't no $280! tire rack or discount tire may honor the warranty, never thought about that but you'd have to pay shipping then. this one is definitely out of the dealer's hands.
personally, i've found Dunlops to be far superior to the OEM Michelins. the SP Sport A2s and SP 5000s are aweseome, well rounded tires (no pun intended). Honda uses the Michelins because of their lo rolling resistance which helps fuel mileage. and they're a muchbetter value. i take the Michelins off the car within a couple thousand miles (depending on my cash flow) and sell them used for more than what a new set of the Dunlops cost. its always worth it!
