probabbly a dumb idea
I might be getting an acura tl-s 02 soon, and i want a lip kit. Funds here are pretty tight though, so i was thinking of doign this: Make the side skirts out of foam, then fiberglass them. Its probabbly to hard to make a mold on the front and back, but the sides look pretty easy. Then id get it painted at a shop. If it came out bad, only <50 bucks of materials wasted, ill just throw it away.
Is this a good idea?

it would take to much time and it might not coming out fitting right just saying that if u get it wrong then its a waste of time. if you want to get it for a cheaper price you could always buy the whole like kit for like 3-4 hundred dollars for the ultra flex fiberglass ones. there is a website that has them if u want i look for it for. also ebay has the fiberglass kit

well tight as in i dont have 1000 to drop, but a few hundreds ok. Whats the oem made of? and if i did to it myself id make it stury. i have a friend who has alot of fiberglass experiance making sub enclosures and other stuff so it woudlent be half -assed
polyureathan i think i miss spelled it lol. the oem flexes more so it wont crack. but the fiberglass doesn't flex has much so when u hit a curb the pressure cracks them. as to the oem which would just flex and bend.
i've spent close to 650 for all of mine.. bought each separately....
You're better off waiting and getting a used lip kit either piece by piece or all together. My experience with trying to cut corners usually ends up costing more in the long run.
