Well, what I usually do is get some of the money ready to go... then just charge the good old credit card ... that way when the bill comes you have some money for the bill, and the rest can be paid over time. I know that sometimes paying with a CC you may pay a little more for an item then with a money order.... but you're paying for convenience in a way.. so to me it's still worth it!! My wife on the other hand may not agree

I did exactly what juniorbean mentioned, except I applied for a discover card which had 0% interest for 8 months. So I was able to spread my payments across 8 months (about a little over 100 a month). So win win situation.

LOL... good point... those 0% credit cards are dangerous. I've been transferring balances everytime one of the promos runs out. I open a new 0% card, transfer the balance from the card that had the balance... and keep paying it off at zero %!!

Credit! God Bless America!

I cut all mine up, though. I suppose I must be "unamerican" and actually save up a little before each mod comes my way. That means WAITING!

Now you could forgo eating and sitting at home in the dark for a couple of months and I bet that body kit would look sweet if you weren't too weak to drive or had become light sensitive...
<just kidding>

ROFL...This post is cracking me up!

ooooohh...bad idea man! credit companies have caught on to that, i heard it can adversely effect your credit rating, or at least your chances of getting approved for another card.

good idea while it lasts though

Dude, you'd be hard pressed to find ANY business giving you a $800 loan. (Not even worth the paperwork.)

If you need it that bad, just charge it. Or, take the advice from some others and just save the 800 bucks.

Well, I've only done it twice.... from the original card, onto a card I already have that offered 0% on transfers, and now we're transferring it to a new card. This will be the last transfer as the new card is 0% until May 2004. I figure 2 years of not paying off our living room set is long enough

To be honest, the only reason I'm doing it is b/c we're closing on a new house in May, and I want as much money as possible available to us. So far, no affects b/c our credit is great and no problems with the mortgage. I've never done it before and probably won't need to do it again, but you never know
