I dont know what that is but I have P1457, and I've spent $849 trying to fix it... DAMMIT! Fuck these fucking codes. I just had to get a fucking waiver for emmissions so I can get my tag renewed.... on an acura... WTF?

 

Actually P1491 is "EGR valve lift insufficient". Which probably means you need a new egr valve...easy install, but the part and install it yourself...we can help...but the dealer can tell you how to better solve that problem...

By the way, Blazin_TL we might be saying the same thing, I just got my code out of the manual. EGR valve is the Bypass valve.

Comet, your P1457 code is "EVAP control system leak near canister"

 

i took the mainfold off and cleaned the living shit out of it with intake cleaner ( including the tiny whole that i thought was the egr hole

what else could it be

cleaning the hole would only be needed if the code P0401 was thrown...you first need to ask the dealer how to fix that, but I am guessing you have a bad egr valve and needs to be replaced. Mine was $85 from the dealer.

 

I just replaced my egr valve and as far as the P1457... I've had 3 parts replaced and still, my CEL is on. DAMN!
