Offset help please!!!

I'm looking at picking up some 19's, probably 19 by 8's. Who knows the right offset? What about running 19 by 8.5's. I'm slightly dropped. (Got the Comptech springs).

19x8.5 won't fit..
19x8 need an offset of at least +45

Thanks for the help. Ok, 19x8, +45. Is that optimum offset? What about +50? +40? I've been checking out pics of 19's on TL's, but offset usually isn't listed.

The higher the offset, the better.

Does a higher offset move the lip outward? Would a +50 offset, for example have a higher or lower chance of hitting the outer edge of my wheel well?

the factory offset is a +55. the higer the offset the further in it mofes the rim inside the wheelwell. the lower the offset the further it pushes it out. with a 8" i would recomend trying to find the highest offset possible (+47,50,55 ect...)

this site shows wheel offset http://wheeltool.com/info/offset.html

19x8 +50 is the optimal offset. End of discussion.

I have 18x8 with 50+ and H&R Sport drop, no rubbing issues. Go with 50+ offset or above

Not true statement I have 20 on my acura and it didn't lift it that much matter fact i am dropped on H&R OE Springs. I will post pics if you would like to see. I am tired of people saying not do 20's, yes some 20's don't fit right but there are now new 20's out there that are 20x7.5 with a 42 offset or even higher you just have to research, there is a couple of companys out there with that offset. I have X20 Tricks, I believe TIS makes a 20x7.5. You will have to run 225/35/r20 they are made by Nitto thats what i have. Hope that clears up what people say about 20's on a acura. No rubbing at all once i cut the tab.

I'm gonna post pictures as soon as I get my new rims. I just bent one of my rims this past weekend.

nsxnext is right that would be best but its very hard to find that offset you can work with 45 offset like i have now.
