Has anyone else noticed that there seem to be two different styles for the OEM spoiler? I know one is probably a replica, but which one is the true OEM?

1) One style bolts down on the very outter side of the trunk and then extends off the sides of the trunk... The extension meets the top crease that runs down the side of the car.

2) The other style does not extend off the trunk and does not look that good IMO.

Which version do you guys have? I'm debating on spoiler, or no spoiler. I like the OEM, but then again I like my car without a spoiler... I like the WW Spoiler, but I think I like the OEM better...

 

theres an endless amount of spoilers out there that would fit.

i think your talking about either OEM and Mugen, or OEM and WW

out of the 3 i like mugen.. its hard to find a shop to make a replica though.

 

My ABP TLS is the only car I've had in YEARS that does not have some type of spoiler on the back. I've been thinking of getting one, but I've about decided, other than that Mugen one, the car looks better without one!!

Maybe a lip spoiler, but I'm thinking the OEM or WW wing spoilers kind of ruin the lines of the car and make it look more like a Accord of the same era.

Perhaps we should do a poll on what everyone likes for the rear of their car-
none, lip, wing, or Mugen.

 

the concept of the lip is ok.. but it looks almost like a attempt to copy the mugen.. and looks cheap imo.

seen to many old civics and accords with tiny lips off ebay.
you can barely see them anyways

mugen or OEM is the way to go.

i've seen a few people use the accord's wing from different Gen's and it looked pretty decent also.

.........i have the Lip spoiler and looks sexy in my opinion...it looks sleeker...its for us people that dont wanna drill holes in our trunks and then later decide on something else...i have seen many people in the BM wanting to trade their trunks with OEM spoilers for trunks with no spoilers at all...dude the lip is no where near the size of the Mugen and in no way tryin to copy it...and its not cheap looking either...again thats ur opinion and this is mine..im jus here to defend us LIP SPOILER users...

if the TL's trunk didnt dip Down.. i think the lip would do it more justice.

sometimes the trunk going down like that reminds me of an aurora or old ford escort

its needs something to pick it up! and look sporty again

Ive never seen an OEM style for the TL that doesnt extend past the trunk lid.

 

Go on ebay, and search for Acura TL Spoiler. You have to look hard for the ones that don't extend. But they are there my friend.

And like i said, they are NOT OEM. There are really only 2 OEM styles. The ones you see on the cars from the factory and the A-Spec/Inspire (neither of which you can get in the US from dealers, and are expensive and much different looking)

those markers... i think if the markers werent in those spots i'd be much more attracted to it.. i like the shape better..

I actually like the A-Spec spoiler the most, even more than the Mugen spoiler.

 

I can't tell from the picture, but I'm guessing it does.
I like the A-Spec better than the OEM for a wing type.

Yes, He has a Clear 3rd brake light in it so it hides better

 

fsttyms... i searched but couldnt find anything on this... do they make the strip Clear in color for the USDM oem spoiler?

i think the clear housing would look much better against FPR then the red does...
