Odd TCS Problem
Odd TCS Problem
Hey everyone,
As most of you know I just got my car back from the body shop and I'm tryin to work out the bugs and the little things. I have a problem with my TCS. When I barely touch the gas pedal, the TCS indicator lights up and I can feel the system working, but my tires are no where near slipping. I hardly touch the gas pedal and it does this. The body shop replaced 3 ABS sensors (2 front, one rear), and I'm concerned of what the problem might be. Anyways, if this has happened to anyone, please shed some light on this situation for me. thanx ya'll!

I would highly doubt this is coincidental. The ABS works directly with the TCS system. When the TCS system kicks in, you will hear kind of a humming noise, the same noise people complain about when they first start the car. If they did anything with the ABS sensors, then my guess is this problem is directly relatated to something that they did. In the event of there being a problem, have them look at all 3 sensors, it's probably just a bad sensor. See the problem with these sensor is the fact that if one is faulty, then it f*cks the whole system up. Seeing as it's 4 wheel ABS, you require a sensor on each wheel. The TCS works similarily, whereas if your wheel slips, it compensates by activating the TCS to eliminating slippage. If one of the sensors is malfunctioning then you are going to get false readings from the sensor, most likely causing the sensor to engage the TCS system, which then engages ABS.
Take it back to them and explain the problem.
good luck.
