so i finally had the time and the mindset to install my apex's ws2 on my 01 tl. i spent about 2 hours on it, with no help from anyone, and now it sounds beastly. however, i have noticed a funny smell when the car is idling as well as driving. any ideas?

 

Funny smell like burning smell coming out of the exhaust? or at the engine?

It is normal for brand new exhaust to have that burning smell. Should gone away after few days of driving.

 

Could be the smell from just breaking it in. I put an exhaust on my truck and it had a funky smell for a couple days....once everything got really hot I never had the smell again.

if it smells like buring plastic, it's definitely the exhaust. When we installed my brother in laws exaust on his truck, it stunk like burning plastic for almost a week. We actually went under the car thinking there was a plastic bag stuck somewhere.

 

it actually went away after the first 2 hours
