No Trunk Handle?

No Trunk Handle?
I've noticed that my 99 has no handle to pull down the trunk when open. Did the first gen have them? I hate using my hands to close the trunk after I just washed it. I have to use my arm and that's kind of tricky with groceries.

I just use my hand and pull the black thingy inside the trunk, it works pretty well

i touch the license plate...plus i have so much cascade matting on the trunk that i have to hold that sucker up...
